Atlantic Basin Initiative Holds Energy Forum in Mexico

Energy is key for development. The Atlantic Basin Initiative held its Energy Forum in Cancun Mexico on November 8 and 9. In addition to convening former Heads of State, Current Political Leaders, and representatives from the Private Sector and Civil Society, the Energy Forum will discuss finding better ways of enhancing more efficient and better accesss to energy for all, as well as creative solutions and geopolitical perspectives.

Dr. Juan José Daboub, as member of the Eminent Group of People of the Atlantic Basin Initiative, stated: “This is a fantastic gathering to identify opportunities for the public sector and the private sector to find creative ways of expanding the access and the reliability of energy not only in the countries around the Atlantic, but all around the world. Also, the role of civil society in terms of facilitating the investments that are needed in the communities that are at ground zero is essential.”

Speakers like Former Presidents, Aznar from Spain, Uribe from Colombia and Obsanjo from Nigeria lead panels and encourage the audience to identify the risks and how to mitigate them in order for countries to achieve its competitiveness
