Dr. Juan José Daboub participated in the panel, "Global Priorities for the Sustainable Development Goal" at the CSIS Global Development Forum on April 23, 2015. To view the full agenda, click HERE. The news organization CDAPress quoted Dr. Daboub at the event in an article titled, "A Better Way to Manage Poverty":

"The PovertyCure video on the seminar's website includes interviews from world leaders and people who have been affected by poverty, and have experienced the social entrepreneurship approach to the problem. One speaker was Juan Jose Daboub, the former minister of finance for El Salvador.

"The reason you want to open up the economy is so that people have the opportunity of taking destiny into their own hands," Daboub said. "You can reduce poverty by creating opportunity.""

The Global Adaptation Index (GAIN)—the world’s leading Index showing which countries are best prepared to deal with the droughts, super-storms and other natural disasters that climate change can cause—is moving to the University of Notre Dame. GAIN, which ranks countries annually based on how vulnerable they are to climate change and how prepared they are to adapt, was formerly housed in the Global Adaptation Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit.
